Let’s chat

Sophia Larson

Hi there! I am a Minneapolis-based graphic designer & illustrator.

Currently, I work for U.S. Bank on the Creative Strategy & Delivery Team. Outside of work, I love volunteering my time toward environmental causes. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a BFA in Graphic Design & Interactive Media.

Just for fun!

Sax-Zim Screenprint Fundraiser
This summer, I dedicated myself screenprinting again. After thrifting an armful of shirts, I designed a nostalgic (and rather educational) design that delineates the differences of peat-based ecosystems. I created a small collection of nearly 20 hand-printed shirts, which I sold to friends. 100% of the proceeds were donated to the Sax-Zim Bog in northern Minnesota.

Relief Carving
I’ve found that my passion for relief carving has strengthened my digital illustration skills. The process of reducing an image to only the most necessary components is integral to both. Oftentimes, these prints are richly-textured & inspired by nature.

Printmaking has endowed me with an appreciation for the analog, prompting me to consider how warmth & the human element can enter even the most antiseptic, digital illustrations.

Film PhotographyWhether I am traveling or photographing mundane details of day-to-day life, my Canon AE-1 goes with me. I am never as filled with anticipatory excitement as when I receive the email that my film photos are ready for pick-up. I’ve been using Sun Color Photo since high-school, a small developer tucked in the back of a pharmacy. Some of my most cherished memories & friends live in these film pictures.
